Meet Kim

After multiple decades as a successful TV executive and producer of fixer-upper/home improvement and lifestyle programming (House Hunters Renovation, Rate My Space, House Beautiful, $40 a Day with Rachael Ray, and Food 911with Tyler Florence to name a few), a career that I adored and excelled at, I have turned my attentions to another passion, The Intoxication of Joy®, and by that I mean the heart-centered pursuit of a joyous life, lived in balance, integrity and wonderment.

Back in 2001, I followed my inner compass when I pursued and completed a Masters Degree in Spiritual Psychology. I wasn’t clear what I planned to do with the degree - I couldn’t imagine leaving a career that I found creative and soul-nourishing. And yet, a persistent voice told me I needed to come to my “spiritual senses.”

I listened.

I believe we possess an intuitive “homing sense” that tells us when we need to withdraw from the world and return to ourselves. It is our “homing sense” that urges us to look closer at the bones of our lives. To use the language of home improvement, our inner fixer-upper tells us which structures - which stories and beliefs - could use a good gutting and which ones need a little sprucing up. It is here, in this quiet space, we can begin the remodel and create an energetic makeover.

"Each moment describes who you are, and gives you the opportunity to decide if that’s who you want to be.”

Let me rewind.

Like most of us who are lucky enough to have made more than a few dozen trips around the sun, my world has been shaken and stirred a few times. As a teenager the foundation of my inner house was not on stable ground.

Complicated grief came knocking at my door.

When I was in high school, my older, charming, lovable, popular - and depressed - brother attempted suicide. Although he survived, he experienced a disabling brain injury that would alter our family forever. This happened mere months after my father passed away from a sudden heart attack. These two unexpected plot twists took me emotionally and spiritually to my knees. To not only survive, but thrive I needed to know it was possible to still experience immense joy while also feeling deep grief and heartbreak. I desperately needed my own Phoenix-Rising-Out-Of-The-Ashes moment.

And I got it.

Through these incredible losses, I learned how to choose hope, accept grace, and deepen into gratitude. The small, kind gestures I intuitively made while taking care of my brother shifted my perspective from one of helplessness to one of surrender and acceptance. This ultimately led to a continuing desire to give back, to be of service. And simply, being in service fuels Joy.

“A life saturated in joy will transform even the worst of circumstances.”

 - Vanessa Joy Walker

In my Masters program, as I learned how to counsel seekers through their spiritual and psychological journeys, I too was digging deeper to rebuild a stronger personal foundation. My academic and spiritual path gave me the tools I needed to continue my own “house” work, one brick at a time.

On the shoulders of this work, I studied and graduated from the prestigious coach training program - the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) endorsed by the International Coaching Federation.

“Joy is a decision, a really brave one about how you are going to respond to life.”

- Wess Stafford

Authentic and joy-full living demands examination of our habitual patterns, long held beliefs, and the narratives we’ve unconsciously picked up along the way. It also demands a willingness to write new endings to unfinished stories, as well as craft a new script. A joyful life requires bravery, tenacity and enough self-forgiveness to fill a U-Haul. But more than anything, living in Joy requires commitment and a generous vision to re-building a house that can accommodate our ever-evolving selves. This work can best be accomplished with a witness, someone to reflect back what your own inner wisdom is whispering inside your heart.

I am that person.

I embrace the role of bearing witness, on holding a safe space where there is no judgment, only deep awareness and a dedication to a vision of possibilities and wholeness. I find this inner work both eminently sacred and humbling.

I invite you to join me in revising your old blueprints, and reshaping your inner layout to one of joy, success and personal fulfillment.

Together, let’s plan a joyous, uplifting house party.

The guest of honor: your future self.
